Riau Islands Regional Police Chief Provides Psychosocial Support for Children Affected by Covid-19

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Batam. Riau Islands Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector-General Aris Budiman attended the Psychosocial Support activity for children affected by Covid-19 in 2021 with the theme "Care for Children, Resilient Indonesia" in the Hall of the PIH Hotel Batam City. The activity was opened simultaneously by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

The implementation of these Psychosocial support activities is one of the efforts to support government programs in handling Covid-19 and the recovery of the National Economy, which is in line with the transformation towards a Precise Police through increasing Police activities in handling Covid-19 in synergy with colleagues from the Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of PPPA, LPAI, Department of Psychology of the National Armed Forces and Indonesian State Intelegency Agency's Psychology Center and supported by BRI and ARC.

In addition, this activity is also a tangible manifestation of the Police's concern with other colleagues who are involved and support this event for the condition of the community who feel the direct impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, especially children whose parents and children with disabilities have abandoned. The theme is "Caring for Children, Tough Indonesia.

These psychosocial support activities were carried out simultaneously in various locations with targets set across the entire Polda area and rank with 2,333 children participating, consisting of 2,138 children abandoned by their parents and 195 children with disabilities. Therefore, these touches are needed to provide psychological reinforcement to look to the future and grow concerned for the surrounding environment.

"At this happy event, I remind you that the threat of Covid-19 is not over, we must not be careless, for that we need extraordinary efforts and work for hand in hand with all components of society in implementing strict health protocol discipline through the 5M discipline (Wearing Masks). , Maintaining Distance, Washing Hands, Restricting Mobility, and Avoiding Crowds) and Strengthening 3Ts (Testing, Tracing, and Treatment) consistently. Furthermore, continue to spread awareness to the environment around us to help suppress the spread of Covid-19 as an effort to increase herd immunity, so that we all hope that the economy will continue to grow and people can return to normal activities," explained the National Police Chief.

The activity was continued with the symbolic giving of gifts and means of contact by the Head of the Riau Islands Regional Police Inspector General Pol Aris Budiman, M.Sc., Commander of Military Regio 033/WP, Chairman of the Riau Islands Provincial Representatives, Head of BRI Bank Riau Islands Regional Branch, and Head of Indonesian Psychological Association of Riau Islands.

The participants for psychosocial support for children affected by Covid-19 in 2021 at the Riau Islands Police are 60. With details of 30 children of National Police members affected by Covid 19 and 30 children affected by COVID 19, closed the Head of Public Relations of the Riau Islands Regional Police, Pol.
