Jakarta - The National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo inaugurated the revitalization of the National Police museum for the 2021 Fiscal Year (FY). This was aimed at commemorating the long history of the critical role of the Bhayangkara Corps institution from time to time in Indonesia.
In the inauguration of this museum, Sigit quoted a statement from one of the founders of the Indonesian nation, Soekarno, about the 'Red Jacket' or Never Leave History. The PolicePolice also had an important role in seizing Indonesia's independence from the colonialists. Thus, the spirit of heroic values must be maintained and instilled by all National Police personnel today.
"The history of how the PolicePolice at that time participated in, achieved independence, and the history of how the Police participated in defending independence. Of course, this is a heroic value that must always be instilled in our hearts, and of course, we will instil it in the hearts of our successors. We have to maintain these things. Furthermore, this is where the role of the National Police Museum," said Sigit, starting his speech at the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Tuesday (10/26/2021).
Even so, the former Banten Regional Police Chief stated that all personnel must adapt to the changing times today. The rapid progress of technological development and information disclosure, which of course, will impact the dignity of the PolicePolice in the eyes of the public.
According to Sigit, as the next generation in the Polri institution today, all ranks must make their history. Of course, the historical record must be of achievement, work professionally, and follow what is expected by the Indonesian people today.
"Therefore it is our choice how at this moment we make history. We record in the white book of history with achievements that are good for our organization because this will be remembered in the future by our future generations," said Sigit.
In this era of complete information disclosure, the former National Police Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency also reminded all ranks of the National Police to be wise and professional. Given every action taken by a police officer, it will impact the image of the PolicePolice. It suppresses the spirit of change as the Precision concept must be implemented at all times.
"In the future, I want the PolicePolice to be loved because we protect and protect the community. "That is why the Police are present amid that society that we want to create," said Sigit.
Not only that, but Sigit also expressed his blessing or support for the plan to build a museum at the Police Academy (Akpol) in Semarang, Central Java. According to him, the place symbolizes the birth of police personnel who are always loyal to serving and protecting the community.
The construction of a museum at the Police Academy is also expected to educate the public about the long history of the Bhayangkara Corps institution in Indonesia.
"Of course, we support plans by establishing a museum at the Police Academy because that is where we were born, and from there, Of course, we have to remember," said Sigit.
Regarding the National Police Museum revitalization, Sigit appreciated his staff for taking advantage of technological advances by launching the virtual museum application 4.0. The platform will help introduce the long history of the National Police to all levels of society.
