Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Sumedang. The National Police Chief, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and National Armed Forces Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto carried out a review of the implementation of the mass vaccination of the Confederation of All Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPSI) at PT. Kahatex, Sumedang, West Java, Thursday (08/05/21).
In front of the workers, the National Police Chief emphasized the importance of health being a priority for the movement of activities and the wheels of the community's economy, in the midst of the current Covid-19 Pandemic. Therefore, as one of the drivers of the economy, workers must stay healthy so that they are kept away from exposure to the corona virus.
"Clearly, I want the workers' health to be maintained and the economy to continue to grow. Therefore, both must be able to work," explained the National Police Chief.
The former Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of the National Police explained that workers can be categorised as one of the groups that are called foreign exchange heroes for Indonesia. In particular, those who work in the export-import sector.
Therefore, the Government and relevant stakeholders together with workers must work together to accelerate vaccination in order to realize Herd Immunity or group immunity against the corona virus.
"Accelerate vaccination, especially for our friends, workers who are members of Confederation of All Indonesian Trade Unions. We know that workers are one of the heroes of foreign exchange, because with the strength of exports so far that has been done by colleagues. Therefore, we have an obligation to keep all of our fellow workers healthy." explained the Chief of National Police.
In order to accelerate, the National Police Chief said that the government would deploy 15,000 vaccines for workers in West Java. The goal is to immediately create strong health for workers, so that the wheels of the economy can turn again.
"Our vaccination activities have lowered 15 thousand vaccines. And if it's still lacking, it can be re-coordinated," explained the National Police Chief.
The National Police Chief also emphasized that because the daily number of Covid-19 is still relatively high, workers are expected to continue to implement and comply with health protocols (prokes) in their daily lives.
Even though we carry out vaccinations, we still carry out routines, use masks, after vaccination activities. So that we can carry out procedures and we will certainly encourage vaccinations, explained the National Police Chief.
At the same time, the National Armed Forces Commander Marshal Hadi said, to control the Covid-19 pandemic, vaccination was one of the strategies for handling it. In addition, 3M health protocols and 3T reinforcement.
"These three things are important because the variant in Indonesia is Delta, which transmits more quickly," explained the National Armed Forces Commander.
In addition to vaccinations, the National Armed Forces Commander and the National Police Chief also distributed social assistance to workers and the community to ease the burden in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
