Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Papua. The eastern tip of Indonesia, at the sacred date of Indonesian independence commemoration, was solemnly and cohesively raise the national flag. City officials, the youths, Mimika mountains, until the II B Class Correctional Institution of Timika at Limau Asri village, Iwaka district, Mimika regency, everyone are celebrating the 76th Indonesian independence anniversary together.
The celebration of the independence day of the Correctional Institution was accompanied by the giving of remission to the inmates. Mr Marthen Pake Palinoan, the Head of II B Class Correctional Institution of Timika, was present, and Johannes Rettob, Vice Regent of Mimika, was there as the ceremony leader. He gave remission to 164 inmates out of 275 people. The remission was in the form of a one to six months cut in prison.
Vice Regent of Mimika said, "On this remission giving, it needs to be known that this remission is not something one could get it easily, but it is a scoring of the inmates. I congratulate you on August 17, 2021, annual remission, in which this remission is addressed to all inmates in all Correctional Facilities in Indonesia who fulfilled the requirement. Therefore, I hope everyone could follow the correctional stages conducted by the officers so we could achieve what we hope and dream".
The hope that people in correctional facilities to be better was also delivered by Mr Johannes Rettob. "I hope you could be inmates with faith and good manner after released so you could be beneficial for your neighbourhood and community. For all correctional institution officials, educate and approach all inmates and avoid hate speech and poor treatment to educate people in accordance with hopes and expectations from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. Thank you to the officers of Timika Correctional Institutions. I have received requests from the officers here to build a clinic and ambulance vehicles. I would realise them all, including the Church building as well".
