Raiding "Drugs Village", South Sumatra Regional Police Seized Gambling Tools and Home-made Firearms

inp.polri.go.id - Musi Rawas Utara. Joint Forces from South Sumatra Regional Police conducted a massive raid in a "drug village" in North Musi Rawas (Muratara) regency, South Sumatra, on Saturday (12/06/2021).

During the raid, South Sumatra Regional Police deployed a joint force consists of the Criminal Investigation Agency and Drug Investigation Agency of Muratara Departmental Police (50 personnel), backed by Pioneer B Battalion of Mobile Brigade Unit of South Sumatra Regional Police (104 personnel).

Chief of South Sumatra Regional Police, Police Inspector General Eko Indra Heri, accompanied by Chief of PR and Press Division of South Sumatra Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Supriadi, confirmed the raid.

"Our operation was not limited to drugs, but also other cases such as 3C (curas, curat, curanmor - theft with violence, weighting, and theft of motor vehicles), sharp weapon and firearms ownership, gambling, and thuggery. South Sumatra Regional Police never tolerates any cases of drugs or other society's criminal problems. We will crush and eradicate them till their roots", Chief of South Sumatra Regional Police said.

Pieces of evidence seized from the raid are 34 Ding-dong Gambling Machines and their 1,500 coins, 21 21 motorcycles without documents, one Suzuki Karimun car with five vehicle registration certificates, 13 sharp weapons, three short-barreled firearms with its eight rounds of revolver ammunition, one long-barreled firearm with its one round of ammunition, 347.18 grams of methamphetamine, one digital scale, ten methamphetamine bongs, two bales of plastic wrappers, and money with a total amount of 19,795,000. Furthermore, the police's main targets are drug dealers, drug-related wanted people, 3C-related wanted people, thuggery, and Barbar type gambling.

"Afterward, all captured suspects and seized evidence were brought to Muratara Departmental Police Headquarter for further investigation. With this raid, I appeal to the public, especially parents, to take care of their children. Do not let them be involved in society's criminal problems such as thuggery, drugs, and 3C because police are now in the high pace of raiding thuggery and other society's criminals to ensure the conducive public security and order" Chief of South Sumatra Regional Police.
