Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The RRI Radio, on Thursday morning (12/8/2021) on 10.00 local time, held a special broadcasting theme of Securing Vital Objects in Approaching PON XX Papua, inviting Director of Vital Object Security of Papua Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Nicolas Ari Lillipaly through online medium to accompany the RRI broadcasting at the Media Center Room of PR and Press Agency of Papua Regional Police.
On occasion, Police Grand Commissioner Nicolas addressed the PON XX (20th National Sports Week) that would be commenced from September 20 to October 16, 2021. Vital objects would be secured to the maximum level. "All places such as banks, tourism objects, et cetera. The security for PON would also include the contingent's arrival and departure, venues, opening and closing ceremony, torch relay, and traffic. Those are the vital objects we have to secure".
The security of PON XX would incorporate National Police as a whole (Grand Headquarter, Mobile Brigade Unit, Samapta Unit) and also in synergy with Armed Forces. Nine thousand personnel would be deployed for the PON and Peparnas (National Paralympics Sports Week) to secure 20,000 people arriving in areas under the jurisdiction of Papua Regional Police consist of around 6,000 athletes, 3,000 officials, and 9,000 tournament officials.
Nicolas also delivered the measures conducted by the Police for security. "On the measures, we would first list the vital objects and later coordinating with the owners of the place for communication, coordination, and collaboration".
Later, the athlete's village would be accompanied by the security officers for each contingent.
"The primary thing we want to deliver in the approaching of the PON is that we realise that PON is not only the pride of the Papuans but also the pride of the Indonesians as well", he said.
The sense of pride could be felt radiating from the Police Grand Commissioner Nicolas. "The pride, especially from the Papuans, who have trusted to held PON. Therefore, let's acknowledge this thing because this is our chance to guard each other. Because, if only security officers guarding, everything would be in vain without the people's support".
A hope concluded the statement of Police Grand Commissioner Nicolas in the by-phone interview. "With all humility, we from Police humbly asks for cooperation and collaboration from the people to together maintain safety and security of PON. Let's make PON a success and do not forget to provide information to Police so that the security operation could be smooth, in order, comfortable, and people and give blessings to all of us in Papua".
