Quick Response to Public Complaints in Under 10 Minutes, Chief of East Kalimantan Regional Police Inaugurated Hotline 110

Chief of East Kalimantan Regional Police, Police Inspector General Herry Rudolf Nahak, with Deputy Chief of East Kalimantan Regional Police, Police Brigadier General Hariyanto, Balikpapan Mayor, Rahmad Mas'ud, and Chief of Balikpapan City Resort Police, Police Grand Commissioner Turmudi officially launched Quick Response 110 Program in under 10 minutes arrived at Crime Scene at the Balikpapan Regional Police Headquarter.

Chief of East Kalimantan Regional Police said the launch of Call Center is a police service improving to community. Public can use this Call Center service in urgent or emergency condition. Service 110 is police’s effort to deal with various problems that exist in Balikpapan City, as mentioned by Chief od East Kalimantan Regional Police.

"People can use this 110 service wherever they are, all the mechanisms can be used with cellphones or gadgets by calling 110," Chief of East Kalimantan Regional Police added.

He also advised command center operator and 110 officers in the field to work maximally, and though it might not be able to solve the problems under 10 minutes, but the presence of members in can at least accompany the troubled people to help solving their problem.

This service requires assistance and support from stakeholders and from various parties. Therefore, all stakeholders must take care of 110 service so it gets better day by day. It is expected Balikpapan city can respond in under 5 minutes.

"I really appreciate it because there are a number of community members who are very responsive to community problems, for example fires, fallen trees, accidents and so on," Chief of East Kalimantan Regional Police said.

Launching 110 is the most beautiful gift from the Chief of Balikpapan City Resort Police for Balikpapan City, considering that he will soon move to West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police. He gets promotion for his hard work while serving as Chief of Balikpapan City Resort Police.

"I hope not only in Balikpapan City Resort Police we can develop 110 application, but in other regencies and cities in East Kalimantan we can implement the same thing," Chief of East Kalimantan Regional Police said.

Chief of East Kalimantan Regional Police has also anticipated and conducted study on the potential for false reports or 'pranks' in the use of this Call Center. Later, people who report irresponsibly will be given sanctions, the most severe in the form of criminal threats.

"We have overcome these sanctions with current technology. I urge people not to use this service for a joke, because your data is immediately visible to the operator. We will see the guts from the reprimand, then send message with virtual police and the most severe sanctions are criminal threats,” Chief of East Kalimantan Regional Police said.

After launching the 110 application, Chief of East Kalimantan Regional Police, Deputy Chief of East Kalimantan Regional Police and the Balikpapan Mayor released Quick Response 110 Under Ten Minutes of Balikpapan Cirty Resort Police personnels.
