Preventing Radical Understanding, Banten Regional Police Holds Counseling on Countering Terrorism and Intolerance

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Serang. The Banten Regional Police organise counseling in order to prevent the occurrence of ideas of terrorism, radicalism, and intolerance as well as implement the National Police Chief Priority Program at the Banten Regional Police Headquarter.

Directorate of Community Guidance and Development Banten Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Ricky Yanuarfi, accompanied by Police Commissioner Dedi from Community Guidance and Development Corps',The National Police's Security Maintance Agency and attended by the Head of the Banten Province Coordination of Terrorism Prevention (FKPT) Forum, Amas Tajuddin, and the Head of Subsection for Management and Harmony of Diverse People, Ahmad Bahir Ghozali.

The Directorate of Community Guidance and Development of the Banten Regional Police said that preventing radicalism is the duty and responsibility of all parties and the role of community leaders is very much needed.

"We can prevent this radicalism from forming a mindset, for example counseling activities, Group Discussion Forums (FGD), forming mutual agreements, attending religious seminars and also through patterns of cooperation and partnerships between the National Police with mass organizations and community leaders," said Directorate of Community Guidance and Development.

Meanwhile, Coordination of Terrorism Prevention of Banten Province, Amas Tajudin, said that our efforts to tackle radicalism and terrorism are by building synergy between elements of society to jointly prevent radical understanding of terrorism.

"Strengthening capacity through houses of worship, schools, and the environment. Carrying out public outreach activities on preventing terrorism through media opportunities. Delivering da'wah messages with a national perspective to the entire community and building synergy and cooperation between the Police and the National Armed Forces regarding terrorism prevention," he explained.
