President Joko Widodo attends the 2022 Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (Polri) Leadership Meeting, which was held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the TNI Headquarters Plaza, Cilangkap, East Jakarta. Arriving at around 09.00 WIB, the Head of State was greeted by a row of honor in the lobby of the TNI Headquarters Plaza.
In his briefing, the President appreciated the performance of all TNI-Polri officers who have assisted the government in handling natural disasters, the Covid-19 pandemic, and accelerating Covid-19 vaccinations throughout Indonesia.
"I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude profusely to all members of the TNI and Polri for their sincerity in carrying out their duties and obligations, including carrying out humanitarian tasks, both in handling disasters and the covid pandemic and especially I would like to say thank you for the encouragement and assistance in the field, in the process of accelerating vaccination," said the President.
President Jokowi also emphasized the importance of national discipline, which is currently considered weak. According to the President, the discipline possessed by the TNI-Polri is different from that of civil society, so the TNI-Polri must continue to improve and set a good example to the community.
"I ask the ranks of the TNI and Polri to be able to set an example for the public on this matter," said the President.
The President also reminded us that the discipline of the TNI-Polri is limited by the rules made by the leaders. Therefore, the regulation must continue to be upheld so that national discipline in the TNI-Polri ranks can be maintained.
"I need to remind you that all over the world, the army has its own rules. The law on the military book of the law, which is when we look at the core of the book, is basically loyalty and uprightness," he said.
