The West Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda Sulbar), more precisely Mamuju Police (Polresta), managed to arrest an ustadz who is also a Civil Servant (ASN) at the Mamuju Ministry of Religion office who did sexual violation, Sunday (6/2/22). The ustadz with the initials AR was reported to have committed acts of obscenity against female students who were still underage.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Mamuju Police, AKP Pandu Arief Setiawan S.H., S.I.K., explained that the perpetrator was arrested without a fight and immediately taken to the Mamuju Police Headquarters.
The police confiscated an airsoft gun which was allegedly used by the perpetrator to threaten his victim.
"We also secured an airsoft gun that was used by the perpetrators to threatening his female students," he explained.
The victim's family immediately reported the case to the police, and the perpetrator also damaged the victim's cellphone by being slammed to the floor.
"After that, there were other relatives of the victims who also reported the obscenity of one of the female students perpetrated by the head of the Islamic boarding school," he said.
In addition to examining the perpetrators, the police have also examined 9 witnesses for questioning, namely 7 female students and 2 teachers at the Islamic boarding school.
"The lecherous actions of the leaders of Islamic boarding schools are also often carried out in their private homes when the perpetrator's wife and children are not at home," he explained.
