Police: We Have Been Recruiting Members With Santri Backgrounds Since 2017

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Police stated that they had implemented Buya Syafi'i's proposal regarding asking quality students to be recruited into the Police Academy (Akpol) education. This has been consistently done since 2017.

The National Police from 2017 until now has carried out recruitment activities for National Police members from officers to non-commissioned officers who have a santri background. Hafiz Quran, MTQ champion, and other religious achievers from various provinces explained the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Pol. Inspector-General Dedi Prasetyo, in his written statement, Thursday (12/02/2021).

The Head of the Public Relations Division added that dozens of students from Islamic boarding schools attended the education, with details of 44 students attending the NCO education and 47 students attending the officer training. The National Police also accepted the recruitment of NCO for 2020/2021 for the Hafiz Al Quran category as many as 55 people, Musabaqah Qiroatil Pole (MQK) as many as one and Musabaqah Mutawatil Quran (MTQ) as many as nine people.

In addition, there was also recruitment for religious officers with special competence (Bakomsus) from various provinces with a total of 77 people.

"According to the policy of the National Police Chief, the recruitment pattern will continue to be carried out by the National Police," explained the Two-Star General.
