Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Surabaya. Unit of Drugs Investigation of Surabaya Big City Departmental Police successfully exposed the amphetamine distribution in East Java weighed 13.4 kilograms from three suspects.
The arrest started from a public report on July 21, 2021, related to drug distribution in East Java. The Operational Team of Drugs Investigation Unit of Surabaya Big City Departmental Police then conducted a series of investigations until managed to capture a suspect initialed SR (42), a woman, at her boarding house in Pakis street, Surabaya, with the evidence of 2.6 kilograms of amphetamine and other pieces of evidence.
Chief of Surabaya Big City Departmental Police, Police Grand Commissioner A Yusep Gunawan, stated that she is the courier and distributor of interprovince drugs distribution on Sumatra and Java islands. "We seized 2.6 kilograms of amphetamine from her possession, but another 10 kilograms have been distributed", Chief of Surabaya Big City Departmental Police said.
After being interrogated by the officers, SR admitted to has done the job five times. She was instructed by a drug dealer to get this illicit thing and delivered it to the buyer and lured by the hefty fee of Rp10,000,000.
Then, she was brought to the Surabaya Big City Departmental Police Headquarter for further statement and investigation. These efforts made the Police get another new data, leading to a man resides in Menganti Permai, Gresik.
Afterward, officers conduct case development and investigation to the appointed location. On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, they seized a man initialed KA (38) with the evidence of ten plastic-wrapped amphetamine weighed 650.8 grams at his boarding house in Menganti Permai, Gresik.
"KA also drug dealer and distributor. We seized ten plastic-wrapped amphetamine weighed 650.8 grams. He has distributed around three kilograms of amphetamine in the Surabaya region", he explained.
After interrogation, KA admitted that he got the drugs from a drug dealer and was lured by an Rp2,000,000 fee and have been working with the dealer since April 2021.
The suspect was then brought into Surabaya Big City Departmental Police Headquarter for further investigation. The Operational Team of Drugs Investigation Unit of Surabaya Big City Departmental Police then received information on the arrival of amphetamine delivery from Jakarta to Surabaya.
Based on the information, officers then continued further investigation and development. On Monday, August 2, 2021, around 1.00 a.m. at the Warugunung toll gate, Surabaya, officers successfully arrested a suspect initialed SP (47), resident of Rawa Kuning, East Jakarta, with the evidence of one box contained ten packets of Chinese tea filled with 10 kilograms of amphetamine.
SP also took a role as the inter-city courier. He was admitted that he was instructed by a dealer to take the amphetamine in Pulo Gebang street, Jakarta, which later asked to deliver it to someone waiting in Bungurasih bus terminal, Sidoarjo.
"Based on the investigation, the suspect explained that he had delivered amphetamine to East Java seven times since April 2021, totaled around 100 kilograms", Chief of Surabaya Big City Departmental Police said.
All evidence seized from three suspects is 13.4 kilograms of amphetamine, 1.64 grams of ecstasy powder, ten brands of cellphones, two notebooks, four BCA bank cards, three scales, and one Yamaha N-MAX motorcycle, one Honda Vario motorcycle, and tens of plastic pockets.
Due to their actions, three suspects are subjected to Article 114 paragraph 2 subsidiary of Article 112 paragraph 2 of Law No. 35 of 2009 about Narcotics and threatened by a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum of twenty years in prison or death penalty, in accordance with the regulation.
