Police Successfully Exposed Indonesia-Malaysia Network of Drug Trafficking Worth Rp91 Billion

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Drugs Task Force Team of Central Jakarta Metropolitan Departmental Police successfully exposed amphetamine trafficking of the Indonesia-Malaysia network worth Rp91 billion and arrested four suspects with evidence of 61 kg of amphetamine.

In his statement, Chief of Drugs Unit of Central Jakarta Metropolitan Departmental Police, Police Commissioner Indraweinny Panji Yoga, said that the cases exposed from information on drugs transaction in the Highway Rest Area of KM 208, Cirebon, bound for Jakarta. The team were going to arrest them, but they crashed Police personnel and ran away.

"This case then being developed until Police arrested a suspect initialled C and seized one sack of amphetamine. Another suspect initialled MF then arrested. With information from C and MF, the Drugs Task Force Team of Central Jakarta Metropolitan Departmental Police then arrested the other two suspects, initialled E and TH. E was arrested in a house, which also the warehouse of the amphetamine and seized one sack of amphetamine", Chief of Drugs Unit of Central Jakarta Metropolitan Departmental Police explained.

"Meanwhile, TH was known as the connector to the Malaysian drug network. From all four suspects, we managed to seize 61 kg of amphetamine packed in Wanyingwang tea package and not made in Indonesia. It usually from Myanmar and Malaysia was made as a transit before being sold in Jakarta. From the investigation, all four of them have sold the amphetamine since four months ago. Due to their actons, they are subjected to Article 114 paragraph 2 subsidiary with Article 115 paragraph 2 subsidiary with Article 112 paragraph 2, in relation to Article 132 paragraph 1 of Law No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, and threatened with life in prison or death sentence", Chief of Drugs Unit of Central Jakarta Metropolitan Departmental Police said when leading press conference in the Central Jakarta Metropolitan Departmental Police Headquarter on Friday (03/12/2021).
