Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police investigating and searching the owner of the TriDatu YouTube account. The account was used to spread Yahya Waloni's religious lecture that was suspiciously containing religious defamation.
During the lecture, Yahya Waloni stated that the bible is fictional. Therefore, he then named the suspect and arrested him.
"We are still investigating on whether the account is his or other people", Chief of General Information Department of Indonesian National Police, Police Grand Commissioner Ahamd Ramadhan, on Wednesday (1/9/21).
Chief of General Information Department stated that, in this case, Police just named one suspect, Yahya Waloni, who was recorded as the religious lecturer in the video, even though the YouTube account owner is still unknown. The investigators are still having trouble investigating Yahya Waloni as the suspect due to his health conditions.
The suspect is now being treated in Indonesian National Police Hospital in Kramat Jati, Jakarta, due to complaining of a breathing problem after being arrested by the Police last Thursday (26/8/21). "For now, the suspect is still ill. We would update the development on Yahya Waloni case later", he said.
As information, Waloni has been treated for five days. Nevertheless, he is getting better. The doctor team of the Indonesian National Police Hospital stated that they would release the suspect on religious defamation to the Criminal Investigation Agency to continue the legal process. However, it is unknown when the release is.
"Soon, they will release him back to the investigators. We are waiting for the coordination of the Indonesian National Police investigators for further follow up", the Director of Indonesian National Police Hospital Kramat Jati said on Tuesday (31/8/21).
In this religious defamation case, Yahya Waloni has been named suspect since May 2021. However, he was just arrested in August. This case was started from the report submitted by Love Pluralism Community on Tuesday (27/4/21).
Yahya Waloni was suspected of violating Article 28 paragraph 2 in relation to Article 45a paragraph 2 of Electronic Information and Transaction Law or Article 156a of the Indonesian Criminal Code. He is threatened with six years in prison.
