Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Pangkal Pinang. The supply of oxygen for the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic in the Bangka Belitung Islands continues to flow. This time it came from the National Police Headquarter donation program in the form of 50 oxygen cylinders and 25 boxes of medicine. The medical materials were transported by police plane C295. "Arrived this morning at Depati Amir Pangkalpinang Airport," explained the Head of Public Relations of Bangka Belitung Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Maladi, Saturday (08/14/21).

Pol. Grand Commissioner Maladi explained that oxygen and medicines were then taken to the Bhayangkara Hospital of the Bangka Belitung Regional Police. The assistance was received after previously the Task Force reported a lack of oxygen and medicines as the number of Covid-19 patients being treated increased.

Head of PR added that some of the patients were members of the Police. The assistance was handed over directly to the Regional Police through the Head of Health Department at Depati Amir Airport, Pangkalpinang. "Immediately taken to Bhayangkara Hospital using a Samapta Directorate truck," he explained.

Previously, the same assistance from the National Armed Forces and National Police Headquarter was handed over to the Belitung Regency Government. As of August 13, 2021, the number of confirmed positive COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment has reached 6,501 people or an increase of 660 patients in a day. Most of the patients are undergoing self-isolation treatment and some are in an integrated isolation and hospital quarantine facility.
