Police Gave National Flag and Masks to Residents of Argapura Subdistrict

After distributing the national flag and face masks at the Weref Pantai Housing Complex yesterday, today, Jayapura Harbour Region Sectoral Police distributed the red-and-white flags and face masks to residents of Argapura subdistrict, Jayapura Selatan district, on Thursday morning (5/8).

Chief of Jayapura Harbour Region Sectoral Police, Police Inspector 1st Class Rischard L Rumboy, said that the distribution of national flags occurred at three locations such as Argapura Canon, Argapura Relat, and Argapura Kampung Baru.

Chief of Jayapura Harbour Region Sectoral Police said that Police distributed 60 flags and 150 face masks to the residents.

"The intention and aim of this activity are to commemorate Indonesia's 76th Independence Day, boosting nationalism spirit, and avoid Covid-19 transmission in the community", he explained.

He also appeals to the residents to participate in celebrating Indonesia's 76th Independence Anniversary by adhering to Health Protocols.

"Let's together maintain our health by adhering to Health Protocols on daily activity, wherever we are, to avoid Covid-19 transmission and also maintaining our neighbourhood's public security and order", Chief of Jayapura Harbour Region Sectoral Police said.

He also encouraged residents to keep public security and order conducive in approaching 20th National Sports Week (PON XX) in Papua, especially Jayapura. "As the host of PON XX, we must maintain the good name of our city so that athletes and people coming from outside Jayapura recognise the hospitality of the Papuan people, especially the city of Jayapura", he concluded.
