Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Police collaborated with the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) to take down YouTuber Muhammad Kece's videos which were considered controversial.

There are about 400 videos related to Muhammad Kece that were submitted to YouTube for take down after analysis.

“The video (MK) has the potential to be divisive. Then the analysis is carried out, verification is carried out for take down. Those who do the take down are under the authority of Minister of Communication and Information. Minister of Communication and Information submitted to YouTube. Of course this must get an answer from YouTube," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police's Public Relations, Pol. Grand Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan at Police Headquarter, Trunojoyo Street, South Jakarta, Tuesday (08/24/2021).

Pol. Grand Commissioner. Ramadhan revealed that of the 400 videos that were submitted for take down, 20 of them have been accepted by YouTube. The application for blocking has been made since Sunday (08/22).

“Of the 400 videos that have been posted by MK, 20 videos have been blocked or taken down. So instead of… sorry, no omission. The police and the Ministry of Communication and Information are still in the process of doing this,” he said.

Thus, said the Head of the General Information Division, several videos related to Muhammad Kece who were allegedly insulting the Islamic religion could no longer be watched. The video in question is not only posted by Muhammad Kece, but also videos from other accounts that re-upload (share) Kece's videos.

"So he said this video is 'not available'. For example, the video was done by Mr. MK on the yellow book. Try to see, then there are no more," explained the Head of General Information.

Previously, YouTuber Muhammad Kece was suspected of committing blasphemy, so it was reported to the Criminal Investigation Unit of National Police. The National Police appealed to the public not to re-share Muhammad Kece's controversial videos because they could be ensnared by the ITE Law.
