Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Police opens space for people who feel they are victims of illegal Online Loans (Pinjol) to be able to report to the nearest police force. Illegal in this case refers to a Online Loan company that is not registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

Deputy Director of Special Economic Crimes of the Indonesian National Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Whisnu Hermawan Februanto said that the police in all parts of Indonesia had received orders to handle the case from the National Police Headquarter.

"It is possible that there are still public reports regarding these online loans. Please report them to the nearest police, because all investigators in Indonesia are familiar with the direction of the Criminal Investigation Unit regarding the disclosure of these loan cases," explained the Deputy Director of Special Economic Crimes of Indonesian Police.

The Deputy Director of Special Economic Crimes at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police said that police investigators hope to get as much information as possible from the public so that they can discover more cases related to online loans.

According to data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) quoted by the police, there are still around 3,000 illegal loans or are not registered with the supervisory agency. Therefore, he said, it is very likely that there are many people who are disturbed by illegal online loan during the payment deadline.

These loans often strangle their customers with high interest rates. If they are unable to pay, the loan will terrorize the borrower in illegal ways. For example, they take personal data belonging to borrowers illegally. One of the targeted data is the contact number of the borrower's relatives. It is used by lenders to send loan information to their relatives. Some of them even, he said, could be in the form of cyberbullying or sending vulgar photos and personal data belonging to borrowers to a wide audience on social media. So, borrowers feel pressured.

Therefore, the police do not only look at the element of material losses received by the victim. However, social losses are far more detrimental to victims. Currently, his party is investigating a number of other illegal online loan that are troubling the public.

"Some even borrowed IDR 3 millions, returned IDR 60 million. Because the interest is interest, if you don't pay it, he will tell his friends that this A has taken the company's money even more rudely. The photos are cropped and then sent indecent pictures. That's a lot," he concluded.
