The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police (Polri) has identified two people with the initials AEF and MD who are the owners of KPL (Kios Pupuk Lengkap) as suspects in the case of misuse of subsidized fertilizer.

Director of Special Economic Crimes of the Indonesian National Police, Brigadier General Whisnu Hermawan explained that the state lost tens of billions of rupiah due to the actions of the two individuals.

"The misuse of the distribution of subsidized fertilizers has been carried out by AEF and MD since 2020, which causes the allocation of fertilizers to be not on target, harming farmers who should receive it and made the state lose around 30 billion rupiah, "explained the Dirtipideksus Bareskrim Polri, Monday (31/1/22).

The evidence that was successfully secured by police officers included 2 pickup trucks, six bundles of eRDKKTA documents, 5 books and farmer cards, 1 EDC machine issued by Bank BRI, 400 sacks of subsidized urea fertilizer weighing 20 tons, 200 sacks of subsidized Phonska fertilizer weighing 10 tons, and 30 sacks of organic fertilizer weighing 1.5 tons.

Brigadier General Whisnu Hermawan also said that his party is still developing this case to other persons involved so that it can have a deterrent effect on the perpetrators not to abuse the distribution of subsidized fertilizers.

"So, the allocation of subsidized fertilizers can reach the right target, able to ease the burden on farmers and support the government for food self-sufficiency," explained the Director of the Criminal Investigation Unit of Polri.
