Polda Sumut Held Toba 2022 Safety Operations to Ensure the Road Safety

The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of the North Sumatra Police (Polda Sumut) held the Toba 2022 Safety Operations Troop Assembly in the KS Tubun Field of the North Sumatra Police Headquarters, Tuesday (01/03/22).

The assembly for the Toba 2022 Safety Operations was led by the Director of Ditlantas Polda Sumut, Commissioner Indra Darmawan Irianto, and attended by the Police, TNI, and North Sumatra Transportation Service personnel.

Indra said that the Toba Safety Operations 2022 adopted the concept of maintaining safety and security in the field, prioritizing preemptive and preventive activities to create a safe and comfortable road system, as well as increasing public awareness to comply with health protocols.

"The Toba 2022 Safety Operation will be carried out for 14 days with a strength of 2,299 personnel, consisting of joint forces from 150 personnel of North Sumatran Police Task Force of and 2,149 personnel of the Regional Task Force," stated the North Sumatran Police Intermediate Officer.

the Toba Safety Operations 2022 aimed to break the chain of the spread of Covid-19, prevent crowdings, and reduce the number of violations and traffic accidents and fatalities.

"It is hoped that from the Toba Safety Operations 2022 can create a safe, comfortable, and secure situation and helped reduce the PPKM level in the regencies/cities of the North Sumatra Province," said the Director of Ditlantas Polda Sumut.

The personnel will conduct the operation by giving a sympathetic warning to nine violations that have the potential to cause traffic accidents and fatalities, which is those who are busy with their cellphones while driving, underage drivers, carrying more than one person for motorcycle, do not wear an SNI helmet, drunk driving, go against the flow of the road, do not use safety belts, reckless drivers, and trucks that are over-dimensional and overloaded (ODOL).
