Polda Sumbar: West Pasaman and Pasaman Currently is Safe and Sound

After the earthquake that hit West Pasaman and Pasaman districts on Friday (25/2), currently it is reported that the security and social security situation in the two areas are safe and conducive.

The Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of the West Sumatra Police (Polda Sumbar), Commissioner Satake Bayu Setianto, S.Ik, said that after the earthquake in West Pasaman and Pasaman, their members tried to aid the community by participating in social humanitarian activities.

"We saw that the market which was closed yesterday now has started to open up again. Now, they can return to their daily activities," said Kabid Humas Polda Sumbar, Monday (28/2).

Regarding the refugee camps, Polda Sumbar and the local Resort Police are also trying to do trauma healing for children.

"Because we know these children, need to have fun again, and be joyful again with activities such as playing or singing or any fun activities, to make them happy again," he said.

The trauma healing team was sent from Human Resources and Medical and Health division. Other than that, the team was also joined by a group that had been formed to provide lessons and games to the children.

"They will move around the area. The starting point is at the soccer field refugee camp, and later they will shift to another place," he explained.

He appealed to the members of Polda Sumbar and the other organization that helped the community to keep their spirit up in helping the community.
