The Ditreskrimsus Polda of North Sulawesi named two suspects for alleged corruption in the Bitung City Drinking Water gift program activities for Low-Income Communities (MBR) for the 2017 and 2018 Fiscal Years.
The Head of Public Relations of the North Sulawesi Police, Commissioner Jules Abraham Abast, confirmed the incident.
"The basis for handling this alleged corruption crime is the Police report submitted to the North Sulawesi Regional Police on April 19, 2021, and the Investigation Order dated April 20, 2021," explained the Intermediate Officer of the North Sulawesi Regional Police.
After conducting a series of investigations into the the alleged parties and witnesses, the North Sulawesi Police Ditreskrimsus Investigators then named the suspect for this alleged corruption crime, on Thursday (27/01/22).
Police Commissioner Jules Abraham Abast said the resoluteness of the suspect was carried out because the results of the PKKN audit by the North Sulawesi Province BPKP Representative on December 27, 2021, cause financial losses of the state in the amount of Rp. 14 billion.
“Currently, investigators from the Ditreskrimsus Polda North Sulawesi have named two suspects, each with the initials RL and MNL, who are suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 of Law No. 31/1999 as amended by Law No. 20/1999. 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55, Article 56 of the Criminal Code," concluded the Head of Public Relations of the North Sulawesi Police.
