Polda South Sumatra Continued Narcotics Crackdown Operations

The Narcotics Directorate of the South Sumatra Police (Polda) and Big City Resort Police (Polrestabes) continue to try to dissociate young people from the entanglement of illicit drugs in the jurisdiction of the South Sumatra Police by successfully uncovering the case in the fourth week of January 2022 which was able to uncover 46 cases of drug crimes.

Supriadi quoted South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General (Irjen) Toni Harmanto that said, to ensure that the younger generation is safe from drug entanglements, the Police will not stop taking action. "We will not stop taking action. We will continue to uncover cases of drug networks in South Sumatra," he explained, Monday (31/1/22).

Commissioner Supriadi also said that in the fourth week of January 2022, of the 46 cases, members of the South Sumatra Police's Narcotics Directorate together with Polrestabes and Polres were able to secure 58 suspects, consisting of 46 dealers and 12 users.

"In addition to securing dozens of suspects, our members also secured evidence in the form of 2 Kilograms of crystal methamphetamine (Kg), 27 sticks of marijuana plus 4.288 grams, and 615 pills of ecstasy," explained Kabidhumas.

From the case description and the evidence that was successfully secured this week, the South Sumatra Police Narcotics Directorate together with Polrestabes and Polres ranks were able to save 17,643 young people from narcotics
