Polda NTB Intensify Counter-Policing Activities to Secure MotoGP Event

The Head of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police (Kapolda), Inspector General (Irjen) Drs. Djoko Poerwanto asked the NTB Regional Police (Polda) to intensify the counter-policing activities ahead of the Mandalika MotoGP motorcycle racing event.

"The Mandalika MotoGP starts on February 11-13, 2022, for the pre-season and on March 18-20, 2022, for the main event. It is our duty to ensure the safety of this important event and carried it out according to the Standard Operating Procedure "said Kapolda NTB.

Kapolda adds that, of course, it is not only the task of the NTB Police to create and maintain safety and order, said the but also the ranks of the regional police (polres) to support by carrying out counter-policing activities.

" We are not going to focus only in Lombok, but in Sumbawa must also has police activities so an orderly situation could be achieved," explained the NTB Kapoda.

When asked if there is a special strategy used in securing MotoGP, the NTB Police Chief said that the strategy is unity and cohesiveness from all parties.

“The strategy is by being together, we could achieve our goal,” said Kapolda firmly.

The NTB Police Chief detailed that the number of personnel who will be deployed in MotoGP security will be around 3000 joint officers. Meanwhile, the expected number of viewers was having a fluctuation, because initially there would be around 93,000 people, then the latest data shown it could be around 100,000 people.

"Initially the data shows that there will be around 93,000 spectators. However, the latest result has grown to 100 thousand people and it still could have changed," explained the Kapolda.

But surely, according to the Kapolda, the police will guard all sectors so that the event can be successful.
