Polda Metro Jaya Identified Three Suspects of Illegal Online Credit

The Jakarta Metro Police (Polda) and the North Jakarta Metro Police (Polres) have named three people as suspects in a case of illegal online credit or loan lending in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area, North Jakarta. One of the suspects is a foreigner from China.

"We have identified three suspects. One of the suspects is a Chinese foreigner," explained the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Endra Zulpan, Monday (31/01/22).

Police Commissioner Endra Zulpan said that the foreigner was a director at the loan company. While two Indonesian citizens act as due reminders and debt collectors or loan collectors.

The evidence that was successfully secured by police officers included 28 cell phones, 24 CPU units, four monitor units, a decoder unit, and documents related to loans.

For his actions, the three suspects were charged with Article 27 Paragraph 4 in conjunction with Article 45 Paragraph 1 and/or Article 30 Paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 46 Paragraph 1 and/or Article 52 Paragraph 4 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 19 of 2016 Information and Electronic Transactions with six years in detention.

Then, Article 368 of the Criminal Code with the maximum imprisonment of 9 years and Article 115 in conjunction with Article 65 paragraph 2 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 7 of 2018 concerning Trade with a maximum imprisonment of 12 years.
