inp.polri.go.id - Sumedang. The Head of the West Java Regional Police (Kapolda Jabar) Inspector General (Irjen) Drs. Suntana, M.Sc., led the destruction of the noisy exhaust at the Sumedang Police Headquarters, on Friday (11/2/22).
There is 177 exhaust noise removal in total, 133 of them were destroyed directly and 40 others are still installed on the vehicle.
The West Java Police Chief said the use of this noisy exhaust was disturbing the community. The noise could break the concentration of other drivers on the road, among other negative effects.
"We confiscated this exhaust due to the impact it possesses, such as breaking the concentration of other drivers. It can also cause accidents and many other impactful things,” said Kapolda Jabar to some journalists at the Sumedang Police Headquarters.
"According to the environmental law, this is also a violation that regulated in other laws," added Kapolda Jabar.
The Two-Star General said that Polda Jabar and their staff had socialized regarding the exhaust for approximately 3 weeks to 4 weeks.
“Now we are starting to take action against noisy exhausts that do not comply with the regulations. We already have taken persuasive and educative steps before we act," explained Irjen Suntana.
