The Directorate of Drug Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) of the Yogyakarta Regional Police (Polda) has succeeded in uncovering the marijuana distribution network, from downward to upward, with evidence weighing more than two tons. This was conveyed by the DIY Regional Police Chief (Kapolda DIY), Inspector General (Irjen) Drs. Asep Suhendar, M.Sc. at a press conference, Tuesday (8/2/2022).
"Within 2-3 months we can uncover drug networks from upward to downward," said Irjen Drs. Asep Suhendar, M.Sc.
Kapolda DIY said that this disclosure began with the arrest of DD's relative (18 years old) in Condongcatur Depok Sleman and then from further investigation, Polda also arrests RD (24) and BM (19).
RD, a resident of Medan, is a supplier. Apart from selling to DD, he also sells to MA and AS in Bandung and Bogor.
"RD transport 10 kg of dried marijuana to Yogyakarta and stopped by at their networks in Bandung and Bogor, the rest of the sales of dried marijuana were sent to Jogja by direct delivery, which then arrested by officers there," explained the Akabri graduate in 1987.
After arresting five suspects, Ditresnarkoba carried out their investigation to the island of Sumatra and arrested JU in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. JU bought marijuana from the suspect AGM.
"From what we can gather from JU and AGM, officers found 82 kg of dried marijuana in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, as well a 2 hectares marijuana field with 20 thousand plants with height about 1.5-2 meters in Gayo Lues Regency," said the DIY Regional Police Chief.
According to the Two-Star General, the national scale disclosure of drug trafficking is the biggest achievement in the last 10 years for Polda DIY.
For their actions, the suspects are charged with Article 114 (2) Sub-Article 111 paragraph (2) and Article 127 paragraph (1) letter a of Law R.I. No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
