Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Surabaya. The Alumni Association of the Police Academy in 1993 Battalion Pesat Gatra held a Social Service activity to distribute 500 packages of necessities to some orphans and rickshaw drivers symbolically. This event was held at the Main Square of Surabaya Metropolitan Police Headquarters, Wednesday (25/08/2021).
Regional Superintendent of East Java Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Muhamad Aris as a representative of the 1993 Police Academy Alumni Gatra Rapid Battalion, said this activity was held to help ease the burden on the community, especially for those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Our goal is to do this social service to help ease the burden on the community, even though it doesn't fully help their needs," said the Regional Superintendent of East Java Regional Police when giving a speech at Surabaya Metropolitan Police.
Then, he explained that this assistance had been carried out since August 22, 2021, with 14,000 basic food packages initiated by the 93rd generation of Police Academy, spread across 7 Regional Police or Provinces. And for the East Java region itself will be distributed in 4 areas, including Surabaya, Tuban, Ngawi and Magetan.
"Some of this social assistance has been delivered by Community Police Officers ranks, especially places that are difficult to reach," continued Regional Superintendent of East Java Regional Police.
After that, his party appreciates and encourages the task of Community Police Officers, who continues to try to help deal with Covid-19 cases. Every day, they go out of the house to face people exposed to this dangerous virus.
"It should be noted that the current task of Community Police Officers is extraordinary, every day they leave the house they meet people who are infected with COVID-19, especially now their task is to carry out testing (early checks), tracing (tracking), and treatment, therefore they are currently unsung heroes," he said.
In addition, he said that currently, the 1993 Police Academy alumni are also preparing 1000 doses of vaccine for workers and the general public at the Merdeka Vaccine Outlet of the Surabaya Metropolitan Police to accelerate the increase in Herd Immunity for Surabaya residents.
"Hopefully, the 1000 doses of this vaccine will benefit the community," said Regional Superintendent of East Java Regional Police.
