Tribratanews.polri.go.id -   The National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has taken another step towards in modernizing the National Police. The National Police Chief requested that the Traffic Police should no longer issue a ticket on the spot, but instead ETLE, or electronic ticketing, both static and mobile, which has been used in recent years, should be intensified in its use.

The widespread use of ETLE cameras in various cities in Indonesia is the reason why it is time for electronic ticketing to become the main option for the ticketing system in Indonesia. This means that the possibility of bribery can be eliminated, because evidence of violations, ticketing tickets, and payment of ticket fines, can all been done through an online application.

Through manual ticketing, it tends to make the traffic violators bribe the officers in the field rather than understanding and obeying the traffic rules they have violated. Thus, the transitition from manual to electronic ticketing means not only changing the ticketing system, but also an effort to make a cultural changes in Indonesian society.

According to Communication expert, Rahmat Edi Irawan, through electronic ticketing, it is hoped that it will eliminate, at least reduce the old cultures, such as bribing the officers that have been quite well known in Indonesian society. It seems that it is time for us to switch to a new, more civilized and advanced culture.
