The Technology, Information and Communications Division (ICT) of the National Police has dispatched Mobile Repeater cars at several blank spots locations for radio communication networks to assist security personnel in carrying out their security and escort duties during G20 Summit. One of the locations reinforced by mobile repeaters is in the area around The Apurva Kempinski hotel, Jalan Raya Nusa Dua Selatan, Badung, Bali.
"Because the location of the road that will be passed by the G20 Summit entourage is winding and hilly, which disrupted the communication signal. So, we have to expand the range of radio communications signal at the blank spots with mobile repeater so that the communications on that location don't cut off," said mobile repeater controller officer, AKP Arie Wibisono, at the location, Sunday (11/13).
Previously, AKP Arie Wibisono, assisted by seven other members, had conducted a survey in several places that were considered to have poor radio signal reception. Before there is a mobile repeater dispatched in the location, he said the communication range still had poor radio signal reception, especially around Hotel Mulia because of the blank spot. However, after installing the device, the signal can be strengthened up to 5 kilometers.
"After we dispatch the mobile repeater, the communication range can reach up to 5 kilometers. We make sure there are no interrupted communications on the location paths around the hotel," explained Arie.
AKP Arie Wibisono explained, to ensure that no communication services were disrupted, he and his four members were also on standby 24 hours a day. If there is a problem such as a power outage, then his team will immediately turn on the generator located in the rear cabin.
“This Police ICT Division car has a site trunking device that can be connected to the Bali Police trunking site. So that it can provide communication backups in our security operation," concluded Arie.
