inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Food Task Force of National Police (Polri) appealed to the public not to be swayed by cheap cooking oil on the market because some people are now abusing the issue of cooking oil scarcity to commit fraud.

The Deputy of Food Task Force, Brigadier General Whisnu Hermawan stated the method of the fraud is by selling cheap cooking online by online. “Lots of people order the cheap cooking online by online. They paid it beforehand, but the item did not arrive at all,” he said, Thursday (22/2/22).

Brigadier General Whisnu Hermawan also adds that the government had set the three highest retail prices (HET) for selling cooking oil to the public, which is Rp. 14,000 for premium packaging, Rp. 13,500 for ordinary packaged cooking oil, and Rp. 11,500 for bulk cooking oil.

With that, Brigadier General Whisnu Hermawan ensured that there are no distributors or persons selling cooking oil below the HET set by the government. Whisnu asked the public to be wiser and not easily swayed by the promotion of cheap cooking oil under the HET.

"So don't be swayed. Currently, we are still carrying out supervision. If there are violations, we will take action immediately," explained the Deputy of Food Task Force.
