Papua Regional Police Provide Technical Briefing To Members To Secure Vote Re-election in Nabire

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Nabire. Located in Nabire Police Corridor, Technical Guidance for Security Personnels for the Re-voting of 2021 Nabire Regional Election PSU (re-voting), was held Monday (26/07/21).

The technical guidance was attended directly by PSU Regional Observer Officer (Pamatwil) of Papua Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner N. A. Lilipaly, accompanied by Chief of Nabire Resort Police, Kariawan Barus.

Also present were Battalion Commander C Mobile Brigade of Papua Regional Police, Police Commissioner Jhoni Simonsabra, Deputy Chief of Nabire Resort Police Samuel D. Tatiratu, Head of Division, Head of Unit, Chiefs of Sector Police of Nabire Resort Police, Control Officer (Padal) and Officers as well as members of Operation Control Assistance (BKO) and general assignment (Gasum) as well as members of Nabire Resort Police who involved in securing the PSU (re-election) for 2020 Regional Head Elections of Nabire Regency.

On that occasion, PSU Pamatwil, Police Grand Commissioner Lilipaly said the location of the success of organization is the cooperation of all parties. The success of this election depends on all of the parties involved.

“In carrying out our duties, if there is an incident, we can base on Article 18 of Police Act regarding discretionary actions," Police Grand Commissioner Lilipaly mentioned.

He continued, "We carry out security duty in accordance with the One Name One Pot (No Noken system) according to Constitutional Court (MK) Decision. Those who can vote are those who have ID cards," Pamatwil said.

"Let's take care of our health. Always obey health protocols, considering that in Nabire Covid-19 number is increasing,” Pamatwil mentioned.

At the same place, Chief of Nabire Resort Police said, at PSU the voting system is clear, there is no Noken system. It’s ID card system.

"So that members in the field recognize all committee members at TPS (voting place), including Linmas (community protection), supervisory committee (Panwas), voting organizers (KPPS), and local village officials," Chief of Nabire Resort Police said.

"Remind KPPS Officers to carry out their duties as well as possible so they won’t get entangled in the Election Crime Act. Failing the Election is punishable by 5 years in prison. Blocking people from voting and eliminating people's voting rights is punishable by 2 years in prison," Chief of Nabire Resort Police said.
