Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Medan. The PRC team of the Sabhara Unit of Padangsidempuan Departmental Police thwarted the smuggling of amphetamine on Thursday (16/9/21). Officers arrested two couriers and seized evidence of amphetamine stored in instant noodle boxes.
Chief of Sabhara Unit of Padangsidempuan Departmental Police, Police Commissioner Attendant Rudi Siregar, stated two people arrested: AB, a 31-year-old woman, and BR, a 25-year-old man. Both are residents of the Wek VI subdistrict, South Padangsidempuan district, Padangsidempuan city.
"Both were arrested when they were picking up a package suspiciously containing amphetamine in one of the taxi's counters (intercity transport) in Imam Bonjol street, Padangmatinggi subdistrict, South Padangsidempuan district", Police Commissioner Attendant Rudi Siregar said on Friday (17/9/21).
Chief of Sabhara Unit of Padangsidempuan Departmental Police mentioned that the amphetamine package was hidden inside the instant noodle boxes to deceive officers. Officers who investigated and knew the drugs smuggling then arrested AB and BR.
"When opened, the instant noodle box contains transparent plastic pockets suspiciously filled with 5.45 grams of amphetamine. The drug was delivered by someone from Mandailing Natal regency through Padangsidempuan through delivery service", he explained.
According to him, during the interrogation, AB admitted that she had to deliver amphetamine for her three children because she had been divorced for a long time and was tempted by the job's fee. She did it more than once.
"Both suspects are handed over to Drugs Investigation Unit for further investigation to look for the dealer or the owner of the illicit products", he concluded.
