"We have secured evidence of dry marijuana weighing 28 kilograms, while the US has been named a suspect," said Padang resort police Chief, Pol. Grand Commissioner Inran Amir( 08/30/21).
The former Dharmasraya Police Chief said that the perpetrator, who was still a teenager, was initially arrested by officers on Saturday (08/28/21), but was only released on Monday for the sake of developing the case.
According to the suspect's confession, he brought tens of kilos of marijuana from the Panyabungan area of North Sumatra Province to be circulated in the West Sumatra area. When he entered the Padang City area, precisely in the Lubuk Buaya area, the car driven by the perpetrator was immediately intercepted by the Drug Investigation Unit.
“We immediately arrested the perpetrator and inspected the vehicle. As a result, 28 large packages of dried marijuana were found,” said Head of Drug Investigation Unit, Pol. Commissioner Attendant Dedy Ardiansyah Putra.
From the suspect's statement, he transported the dried marijuana on the orders of someone who is still being hunted by the police.
"The suspect admitted that his only job was to pick up and then deliver the marijuana to a place that someone had mentioned via telephone," he explained.
