Semarang - The Aku Sedulurmu program of the Central Java Regional Police was officially launched today, Monday (08/16/2021) at the Patra Jasa Hotel Semarang by Mrs. Juliati Sigit Prabowo who will also be inaugurated as Foster Mother.
This program is the first time, hopefully it can be sustainable," said Juliati Sigit Prabowo.
According to him, children who have lost one or both parents due to COVID-19 are in a vulnerable condition and need special protection.
"It is not impossible for them to lose their future. Therefore, it must be ensured that their future is guaranteed," he said.
"This is the first program implemented to help orphans due to Covid-19. Hopefully this will be an inspiration and example to all, so that children are guaranteed education and their future. Let's help them so that they can achieve their dreams and aspirations," he continued.
Although it was only launched today, the Central Java Regional Police's Aku Sedulurmu program has been running by providing educational assistance to 333 orphans throughout Central Java who were also affected by the pandemic because both parents died from COVID-19.
Support continues to flow for this program, even the Aku Sedulurmu program also received a Unicef (United Nations Children's Fund) award which was officially given to the Central Java Regional Police.
Unicef assessed that the Central Java Regional Police's Aku Sedulurmu Program was the first program to think about the fate of orphans affected by COVID through the provision of education savings.
On the other hand, the Central Java Regional Police Chief added that this program is the initial part of what will become a sustainable program.
"This program will be an additional task in addition to the main task as a member of the Police," he said.
The details of the amount of assistance for children who are in elementary school receive assistance of IDR 4.6 million per year, junior high school students of IDR 4.8 million per year, and high school students of IDR 7.2 million per year.
