North Sumatra Regional Police Provide Scholarships and Psychological Support for Children Affected by Covid-19

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Medan. The North Sumatra Regional Police provides psychosocial support and scholarships for children affected by Covid-19. The North Sumatra Police recorded that 110 children had lost their parents due to Covid-19.

This activity, entitled Caring for Indonesian Children Tough, was attended by the North Sumatra Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector-General RZ Panca Putra Simanjuntak, Commander of Military District I/BB Maj. Gen. Hasanuddin and the Governor of North Sumatra Edy Rahmayadi invited 110 children who no longer have parents.

Even children abandoned by their parents experience psychological and traumatic (disorders) themselves because they no longer have parents, explained Inspector General of Police. RZ Panca Putra Simanjuntak in Medan, Thursday (11/04/21).

The activity, entitled Caring for Indonesian Children Tough, was held by the North Sumatran Regional Police by inviting and motivating their survival.

The Two-Star General said he was pleased because it motivated children abandoned by their parents because of Covid-19.

We do this to motivate and encourage them, said the Indonesian Military Academy graduate in 1990.

The North Sumatra Regional Police and the I/Bukit Barisan Regional Military Command are collaborating with relevant stakeholders to carry out this activity as support for the government's efforts to ease the burden on the people affected by Covid-19.

"We will pay attention to them and help with school fees until they finish their education to achieve their goals. This is the assistance we provide," explained the former North Sulawesi Regional Police Chief.

Pol. Inspector-General RZ Panca Putra Simanjuntak added that Covid-19 cases were also starting to show a significant downward trend in the province of North Sumatra.

"However, behind the Covid-19 pandemic, much grief was felt for the families of the victims who were affected," closed the North Sumatra Regional Police Chief.
