North Sumatra Regional Police Launches the Shining North Sumatra Application

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Medan. The Directorate of Drug Investigation at the North Sumatra Police launched the North Sumatran application to prevent drug trafficking.

The launch of the North Sumatran Shining application was also attended by the Director of Drug Research at the North Sumatra Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Wisnu Adji, Head of North Sumatra Provincial National Narcotics Agency, Head of Sub-Directorate III of North Sumatra Police's Drug Research, Pol. Grand Commissioner Attendant Fadris Sangun Ratu Lana, Head of Public Relations of North Sumatra Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Adi Wahyudi, as well as other North Sumatran Regional Police's High-Rank Executives.


In his remarks, the Director of Drug Research at the North Sumatra Police said that the launch of the North Sumatran Shining application program aimed at informing the National Police in eradicating illicit drug trafficking, which was originally done conventionally by means of IT-based digitalization.


"The North Sumatra application, which was launched, is a product initiated by Pol. Grand Commissioner Attendant Fadris SR Lana to support study programs in completing school assignments in the TK-II national leadership training of the Ministry of Public Works and Human Settlements batch V in 2021," he explained.


The Director of Drug Research at North Sumatra Police revealed that the trend of drug abuse and illicit trafficking in North Sumatra was increasing, where based on data available for the disclosure of drug cases by the North Sumatra Police Narcotics Research and the ranks of January to May 2021 period, as many as 3,037 cases.


"The high circulation of drugs is considering the geographical location of North Sumatra Province which borders Riau Province and directly borders the sea / Malacca Strait which is one of the factors at the entrance of drug trafficking to North Sumatra, most of which use the sea route," he said.


In high cases of drug trafficking, Wisnu said that the North Sumatra Police Narcotics Directorate had carried out various prevention and prosecution efforts by cooperating with religious leaders, community, youth, customs, students, students, and drug activists to jointly assist the police in preventing drug trafficking.

"One of the things that we are launching, the North Sumatra Shining application is a Precision Police program in supporting the prevention of drug abuse," he said.
