On Indonesian Independence holidays, the North Sumatra Police Traffic Director noted that as many as 459 two- and four-wheeled vehicles were turned back when they crossed the barrier post in Medan City and between North Sumatra Provinces for violating Community Activity Restrictions Level 4 rules, explained North Sumatra Police Traffic Director, Pol. Grand Commissioner Valentino Tatareda, Monday (08/16/21).
Based on the records received by the turned back vehicle, the Belawan Police were 279 units, the Binjai Police were 6 units, the Tanah Karo Police were 50 units, the Deliserdang Police were 46 units. Then, 40 units of Serdangbedagai Police, 11 units of Langkat Police, 2 units of Pakpak Bharat Police, 12 of Labuhanbatu Police and 13 units of Mandailing Natal Police.
Police Commissioner, Valentino Tatareda explained that the personnel on duty at the blocking post for the city of Medan and the border between the provinces of North Sumatra carried out inspections of road users and checked travel documents and vaccine certificates.
If they don't meet the requirements, vehicles that pass at the blocking post will be turned around and diverted not to enter Medan City, said the North Sumatran Police Intermediate Officer.
The North Sumatra Regional Police's Traffic Director added that personnel also distributed masks to people who passed at the barrier post in Medan City and between the borders of North Sumatra Province while also providing health protocol appeals.
