inp.polri.go.id – Manado. Sub Directorate I Indagsi Ditreskrimsus Polda North Sulawesi found a number of hazardous chemicals stored in the warehouse of a company in Watutumou III, North Minahasa (Minut), on Thursday (03/02/2022), around 17.00 WITA.
Head of Public Relations of the North Sulawesi Police, Commissioner Jules Abraham Abast, S.I.K., confirmed this.
"The discovery began with officers conducting investigations related to alleged criminal acts in the trade sector as referred to in Article 106 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 7 of 2014," he said.
He adds that the authorities then inspected the company's warehouse.
“Officers found a number of hazardous chemicals. It consists of 174 cans of cyanide, 10 bags of Jin Chan, 20 bags of Caustic Soda Flakes, 19 cans of Corrosive, and 19 cans of Hydrogen Peroxide," he explained.
During the examination, the business owner could not show the trade permit documents related to these hazardous chemicals.
The Ditreskrimsus officer of the North Sulawesi Police then temporarily closed the company's property.
"Furthermore, the Ditreskrimsus will coordinate with the North Sulawesi Province Trade and Industry Office regarding the activities of the company suspected of trading in hazardous chemicals," concluded the Head of Public Relations of the North Sulawesi Police.
