Papua - The wheel of food in Papua is mostly dominated by local farmings, just like in Ampera village of Karubaga district, Tolikara regency. The farming community has a group of mothers, which in the Papuan language is called "Mace".
The farming group is the attention of the Noken Community Development Unit (Binmas Noken) of Tolikara. Under the leadership of Police Inspector 1st Class Widada and his six members: Police Brigadier Petrus Hamokwarong, Police Brigadier 1st Class Yordan P Bonay, Police Chief Brigadier Esau Wenda, Police Chief Brigadier Rambo D Womsiwor, Police Brigadier 1st Class Pilipus Samtai, Police Brigadier 2nd Class Derek Letlora, conducted KASUARI programme (Welfare for the Nation) on Monday, October 18, 2021, at 09.00 at Ampera village, Karubaga district, Tolikara regency.
The arrival of the Binmas Noken team at the house of Mrs Dina Kogoya Wenda was warmly welcomed by her and her family. Mrs Dina Kogoya and her colleagues are the managers of the farming of Ampera village of Karubaga district.
During the visit, Police Inspector 1st Class Widada delivered their purposes and objectives of the KASUARI programme of Police the Farmer's Friend. "Therefore, we encourage Mrs Dina Kogoya and the community to optimise in cultivating farming lands for the horticulture plants", Police Inspector 1st Class Widada said.
Besides farm or land as the farming land, the mothers also hoped to be able to utilise their garden to plant vegetables such as tomatoes and pumpkins, and other plants as well.
Mrs Dina Kogoya thanked the visitation. "We thanked the arrival and care of Binmas Noken Task Force team and will support KASUARI Programme in Ampera village. In this cultivation efforts, the farming groups and we have cultivated the farming lands and gardens around the houses, but we experienced limited seeds".
The input was collected by the Noken Community Development Unit. At 10.15, the Binmas Noken Task Force team and Mrs Dina Kogoya visited her farming land and helped her to sow the seeds and planting seeds in a prepared hut and observing the growth of long beans.
