No Funny Business: Noken Community Development Unit Always Supports Farming Group of Mamberamo Region

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Papua. Kasuari (Welfare for the People) programme keep commencing simultaneously across Papua by the Police personnel who could reach until Indonesian border, the Noken Community Development Unit (Binmas Noken).

On Saturday, August 28, 2021, the Kasuari programme in Mamberamo, led by Police Inspector 1st Class Yustinus Wudu with his personnel, Police Chief Brigadier I Putu Antara and Police Brigadier Amandus Laho, on 10.30 a.m., visited Gimbis village, Kobakma district, Central Mamberamo regency. The village has the IKM (Independent Group Association) Farming Group, founded by Binmas Noken of Central Mamberamo.

The farming group was led by Mr Yulia Soklayo, along with the treasurer, Mr Serif Soklayo, and the member Mr Joniel Soklayo.

During the visit, Police Inspector 1st Class Yustinus addresses advice and information on public security and order. "Our visit to this IKM farming group is to know how far the development of agricultural land that we found together since the first land clearing", he said.

Police Chief Brigadier I Putu Antara also advised that the farming group could increase their plantation activities, in which its harvest could be used for food security and could be sold to support the economy during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Binmas Noken also advises the IKM farming group to maintain security in Kobakma city together and not to be instigated by invitation from groups opposed to Indonesia. They also reminded them to always adhere to Health Protocols to avoid Covid-19 transmission.

The positive response was also shown by the IKM farming group, such as Mr Yulia Soklayo, who is enthusiastic and thanked the Police for the visit and seeds provided by the Binmas Noken Task Force of Central Mamberamo.

Currently, the third area being cultivated by the IKM farming group is as wide as one hectare, and seeds provided by Binmas Noken could be utilised by the IKM farming group to add more land to be cultivated and planted green mustard and corn.

Mr Yulia Soklayo, as the head of the IKM farming group, said, "We are ready with the Police in maintaining security in Central Mamberamo regency and not to be instigated by invitation from groups opposed to Indonesia that will disturb the security of Kobakma city".
