There is a lot of hope, for Indonesia's advancement in the future, when the government sets a plan to relocate IKN to a new location in East Kalimantan. The new IKN was designed according to the state's objectives, namely to protect the entire Indonesian nation and the entire homeland of Indonesia, promote public welfare, educate the nation's life, and participate in carrying out world order based on independence, eternal peace, and social justice.
The new IKN was designed by the Indonesian people and for the Indonesian people. It is not right to say that the New IKN is a foreign project aimed at foreign interests as well.
It is not true that there will be the construction of a Super Hub World Class Port port by China in the New IKN, which is said to be part of China's interest in controlling Southeast Asian trade routes.
The National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) has confirmed that there will be no new airport and port construction in the new IKN. The government has confirmed that they will utilize the already existing airport in Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan, which is located near the New IKN in the North Penajam Paser area and Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan.
In the process of developing the New IKN, the Karingau Port in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, will be the main logistics door for the construction of the New IKN. The capacity of this port will also be increased from the current 630 thousand TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) to 3.5 million TEUs. In addition, the Semayang Port in Balikpapan is also starting to be repaired to become a buffer for the new IKN in the future.
The development of the New IKN will certainly gain investment from within, and outside the country. The prospect of this new IKN is very bright, making many countries interested in getting involved. So far, several countries have expressed their interest, including China, United Arab Emirates, Britain, Germany, Korea, and Japan. Even Turkish contractors are said to be joining in building Indonesia's new IKN. This was stated by the Turkish Trade Minister, Ruhsar Pekcan, some time ago.
However, the biggest commitment in the development of the new IKN comes from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The UAE will invest US$ 10 billion or around Rp. 145 trillion. The UAE's investment in the new IKN is part of the total investment commitment of US$ 44.6 billion contained in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indonesian government.
The New IKN is indeed the future of this nation. The government emphasized that the replacement of IKN was aimed at reducing the burden on Jakarta and Jabotabek which were increasingly congested and preoccupied with various problems. The new IKN also aims to encourage equitable development in eastern Indonesia and change the development mindset from Java-centric to Indonesia-centric.
In addition, this new IKN is designed to represent the national identity, diversity, and solemnity of Pancasila, and is able to improve efficient and effective central government management. Moreover, the new IKN will apply the smart, green, and beautiful city concept to improve regional and international competitiveness.
To achieve this goal, all of our efforts must be put in place so that the people are better equipped to face the challenges of an increasingly large era. Later, around 1.5 million migrants consisting of State Civil Apparatus (ASN), members of the TNI and Polri and their families, as well as other economic actors will also move to the new National Capital.
So let us make everything loud and clear. Do not give a chance to any individuals who try to spread false information about the New IKN project.
It is not really that difficult to understand the media, as long as we re-examine every information we receive, we can definitely ensure the level of truth of the information.
There may be some parties who do not agree with moving the capital city, then choose the wrong way in expressing their opinion, and even participate in spreading hoaxes, one of which is the plan to build a port by Chinese investors. This issue was deliberately stirred up to reduce the enthusiasm of the people for the New IKN plan.
Of course, the National Police will act decisively against those who try to spread hoaxes or issues that provoke sensitive issues (i.e Ethnicity, Race, Religion) around IKN.
