Nemangkawi Task Force Moves Quickly in Searching for Missing Medical Worker and Fighting Against KKB in Kiwirok, Pegunungan Bintang Regency

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The burning of several public facility buildings in the Kiwirok district of Pegunungan Bintang regency conducted by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) caused medical workers to be the victim.
During the incident, five medical workers who were previously reported missing are have found with injuries (four nurses and one doctor). A registered nurse is still reported missing.
When interviewed, the Chief of PR Task Force of Nemangkawi, which also the Chief of PR and Press Agency of Papua Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, said that the burning incident occurred on Monday, September 13, 2021, at 09.30 local times. Due to the incident, several public facility buildings were burned down, such as the District office, Bank Papua of Kiwirok branch, Kiwirok Public Health Centre, the doctor's house, medical worker barrack, Inpres Elementary School, house of the teacher, and market.
Chief of PR Task Force continued that the perpetrators are suspected from the KKB. The victim identity is Pemda Pegubin, and several public facility buildings are burned down, such as the District office, Bank Papua of Kiwirok branch, Kiwirok Public Health Centre, house of the doctor, medical worker barrack, Inpres Elementary School, house of the teacher, and market.
"The Police is now coordinating with the Armed Forces, evacuating victims, and searching the missing victim", Chief of PR Task Force of Nemangkawi said.
He added that found victims are now in medical treatment, and the joint force of Armed Forces and Police and the Nemangkawi Task Force are searching for the missing registered nurse.
