National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency Collaborates with The National Commission on Violence Against Women Regarding Data Analysis of the Murder of Women in Indonesia

The National Commission on Violence Against Women held an audience with the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police to work together on disaggregating homicide data in analyzing femicides in Indonesia. The National Commission on Violence Against Women said this collaboration was to follow up on the results of the initial study and the femicide working paper.

In this collaboration, the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency and The National Commission on Violence Against Women agreed on future follow-up related to improving data input by sorting victim data, including validation for the past five years to the Sector Police level throughout Indonesia. In addition, it is attempted to input new data using a new format so that there is a sorting of victim data.

Then service to the community is a joint synergy. Although there is no written MoU between The National Commission on Violence Against Women and the Criminal Investigation Department, the synergy of cooperation has been carried out.

Not only that, but this collaboration also encourages synergies between the provision of services in partnership with Komnas Perempuan and Investigators throughout Indonesia to the needs of investigating and assisting cases of violence against women.

In the hearing, the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency was represented by the Head of Sub-Directorate V of the Criminal Investigation Agency Directorate, Pol. Grand Commissioner Jean Calvijn Simanjuntak, Head Unit 3 and Head of Sub Unit 5, Pol. Commissioner Ema Rahmawati.

The National Commission on Violence Against Women was represented by the Head of Resource Center Retty Ratnawati, Commissioner for Resource Center Rainy Maryke Hutabarat, Resource Center Coordinator Siti Nurwati Hodijah, Research and Development Assistant Resource Center Isti Fadatul Khoriah and International Advocacy Staff Verena Vannya.
