National Police's Crime Investigation Agency Arrests an Ecstasy Courier, 1,300 Ecstasy Pills Are Secured

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. An online motorcycle taxi driver (ojol) with the initials AS, who is suspected of being a courier for 1,300 ecstasy pills, has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police at the Utan Kayu Utara Busway Stop, Matraman, East Jakarta.

Directorate of Drug Investigation of National Police's Crime Investigation Agency, Brigadier General. Pol. Krisno Halomoan Siregar said that the suspect AS was arrested while conducting a drug transaction on August 30, 2021, at around 07:30 PM at the Utan Kayu Utara Busway Stop, Matraman, East Jakarta.

"After being interrogated, it turned out that the US suspect was ordered by someone with the initials PCB to take the ecstasy from the Cimanggis area of Depok," explained the Directorate of Drugs and Crime of the National Police, Monday (10/04/2021).

The one-star general explained that the National Police-Criminal Investigation Unit had confiscated several pieces of evidence from the hands of the US suspect, including 1,300 ecstasy pills hidden in a brown box and a paper bag bearing the word H&W a smartphone, as well as an automatic motorcycle.

"We have confiscated and secured several pieces of evidence," explained the Directorate of Drug Investigation of National Police's Crime Investigation Agency.

For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a maximum imprisonment of 20 years and a maximum fine of Rp. 10 billion. In addition, Article 112 Paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning drugs carries a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a maximum fine of IDR 8 billion.
