Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Police stated that the permit of Liga 1 2021-2022 Football Competition has been issued since May 25, 2021, but pending the recommendation from the Covid-19 Task Force.
"It is true. Our permit has been issued since May 25", Chief of Public Information Bureau of PR and Press Division of National Police, Police Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, said on Friday (13/08/2021).
The recommendation from the Covid-19 Task Force is essentially required due to the pandemic situation, considering the increasing positive cases at Java and Bali, so the government has to impose Community Activity Restriction Enforcement (PPKM) of Java-Bali, in which the Indonesian football competitions scheduled to take place.
Previously, Chief of Police's Operation Assistant, Police Inspector General Iman Sugianto, stated that Liga 1's permit is still waiting for the recommendation from the Covid-19 Task Force.
According to him, if a permit is approved by the Covid-19 Task Force, the National Police has no reason not to hold the Liga 1's permit, which would commence during the pandemic.
"National Police, in principle, is waiting for the confirmation from Covid-19 Task Force because we have to get their recommendation. The second one, related to the location, Covid-19 Task Force would recommend it. If all clear, the National Police has no reason not to issue (the permit)", the two-star general said.
Minister of Youth and Sports, Zainudin Amali, stated that Liga 1 would start on August 27, 2021, and would commence until March 2022.
The organisation format of Liga 1 2021-2022 does not change from the initial plan, which would be held in six series and located on three clusters on Java island.
The first cluster encompasses Jakarta Capital Region, West Java, and Banten. The second one covers Central Java and Yogyakarta Special Region. And the third cluster encompasses East Java.
After the certainty on Liga 1, Indonesian Football Association and Liga Indonesian Baru, Ltd would hold Liga 2. However, the time and organisation technicals would be confirmed soon.
