Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Police Public Relations Division will hold a rally oration competition for the 2021 National Police Chief Cup, held on December 10. This activity is also part of the momentum for World Human Rights Day.
The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, revealed that the oration competition was held to provide space and a forum for the public to express their aspirations and expressions.
Providing a forum or space for the community to express their aspirations and expressions while at the same time educating the public on how to express their aspirations following applicable laws and regulations, said Dedi in a written statement to reporters, Jakarta, Wednesday (11/24).
The theme carried is "Commemorating Human Rights Day". Meanwhile, the sub-theme of the event is free. Alternatively, in other words, participants will be freed to deliver an oration in the form of criticism or constructive input.
Dedi added that this activity is a commitment from the National Police, who respects the community's aspirations, one of human rights. This aligns with Article 28 of the 1945 Constitution and Law No. 9 of 1998 concerning Freedom to Express Opinions in Public.
"The National Police always respects and respects human rights in the form of guarding democracy by protecting citizens who express their opinions in public," said the former Central Kalimantan Regional Police Chief.
The technical oration competition will later go through a selection process at the Regional Police level, later being screened for entry to the Police Headquarters level. All elements of society can also participate in this activity. Starting from students, workers, farmers and other elements. This competition consists of 1 team that can contain 5-15 people.
Registration for the competition itself starts from November 25, 2021, until November 30, 2021. After passing the screening process at the Regional Police level, later on, December 10, the participants who won first place in the regions will appear at the main level or the National Police Headquarters.
The National Police has prepared a prize of IDR 50 million for the first winner. Then, IDR 30 million for the second winner and IDR 20 million for the third place participant.
It is known that the National Police are not the first to hold activities related to channelling freedom of expression and opinion. The reason is, the Bhayangkara Corps has successfully held a mural competition festival on October 30, 2021.
