National Police Chief: Mitigation Strategies in Handling Covid-19 Must be Strengthened

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Padang. The National Police Chief, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, again conveyed the importance of strengthening mitigation strategies in handling Covid-19. This was conveyed when the highest leadership of the National Police and the Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, Air Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, chaired the Covid-19 handling and control meeting with the West Sumatra Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, Friday (08/14/21).

"3M's strict procedures, mitigation strategies for people's economic centers and the application of regional policies, education and judicial operations to ensure compliance with the procedures, and barriers to reduce community mobility," said the National Police Chief.

The National Police Chief also conveyed to the West Sumatra Regional Leader Communication Forum (Forkopimda) ranks to increase the Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) and centralised isolation locations (isoters) in addition to strengthening 3T in the fight against COVID-19. "Increased BOR and isoter locations must also be prepared to anticipate a spike in cases so that it is under control," said the National Police Chief.

On the other hand, the National Police Chief also reminded the West Sumatra Regional Leadership Coordination Forum's staff to continue to pursue the target of 2 million vaccines every day to accelerate vaccinations that have been conveyed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. H. Joko Widodo. "To pursue the 2 million vaccination target from the President, forkopimda to coordinate regarding the implementation of vaccinations in the field which is carried out jointly by the National Armed Forces and National Police, health offices, clinic, and volunteers," said the National Police Chief.
