Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo officially launched the Merdeka Vaccination Movement as a strategy to achieve the target of 70 percent vaccination as a gift on Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), on August 17, 2021.
The Free Vaccination Movement was carried out in the Greater Jakarta area. This activity is a collaboration of the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Metro Jakarta Regional Government, Military Regional Command, Covid-19 Task Force, associations of doctors, students, academics, and volunteers, which was carried out from August 1 to August 17 with a target of 3,060,000 people being injected with vaccines on Independence Day.
Sigit appreciates all stakeholders who have a shared passion to accelerate the government's targets regarding the formation of Herd Immunity or group immunity against the corona virus.
Where Vaccination Merdeka is a vaccination strategy that will be implemented to celebrate our Independence Day on August 17th. Earlier the target was more than 3 million to be vaccinated and on August 17th the vaccination was to reach the first dose followed by the second dose being achieved. Of course this is the spirit that I take this opportunity to appreciation, said Sigit at Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Sunday (08/01/2021).
The former Banten Regional Police Chief said that the activity would also target Jakarta Metropolitan residents, especially those who have not received vaccine injections. On the other hand, Sigit hopes that this strategy of accelerating mass vaccination can be carried out in all parts of Indonesia, especially in the agglomeration areas that influence each other.
"And we hope that this will emerge and surge in all other areas besides Jakarta, but I appreciate Jakarta, in this case the Metro Police as the initiator," said Sigit.
In this case, Sigit revealed that the vaccination acceleration strategy must touch the community level up to the Neighbourhoods level. For this reason, said Sigit, a strong cohesiveness and organization is needed from all relevant stakeholders.
"Therefore, on this occasion I call on colleagues who will join together to participate in vaccination activities, I invite them to other places as well. So the government's target is to immediately accelerate Herd Immunity, in Jakarta, hopefully August 17. I also hope that others can do the same thing, or soon follow, so that later this activity in an effort to accelerate the realization of Herd Immunity can really be carried out in all regions," said Sigit.
According to Sigit, the immediate realization of the vaccination acceleration target will affect the people's economic growth. Given that health is a priority for the movement of residents' activities and economy in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
"Because these two things cannot be separated. But health is certainly one of the factors or absolute requirements. So that all community activities could run," said Sigit.
In addition, the former Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the National Police emphasized that currently most of Indonesia's territory is still in Community Activity Restrictions Level 4. Thus, community activities or mobility are still limited.
The Ministry of Health issues assessments in every region of Indonesia related to the PPKM level. Until now, all provinces in Indonesia are still at levels 3 and 4. Or in other words, the implementation of health protocols must continue to be carried out in a disciplined and strict manner. The determination of the situation assessment itself uses two comparisons, namely, indicators of community transmission and indicators of response capacity.
Sigit stated, to reduce the Community Activity Restrictions level, cooperation and synergy from the Government, Regional Government, Covid-19 Task Force, National Armed Forces, National Police and all elements of society are needed. One of them is the acceleration of vaccination and the enforcement of strict health protocols (prokes).
Therefore, if we unite to carry out health promotion activities strongly, we carry out 3M or 5M, then our colleagues carry out 3T strongly and then our vaccinations are accelerated, so of course there will be assessments from the Ministry of Health to lower the level, said the former The Head of the Police Police Profession and Security Division.
With the decline in the Community Activity Restrictions level, Sigit asserted, it will move the wheels of the community's economy. Therefore, all parties must join hands to carry out all government targets in the context of handling the corona virus.
Therefore, Sigit again reminded the whole community to continue to strictly adhere to health protocols, even though they have been injected with vaccines. Moreover, the daily trend in Jakarta Metropolitan Regional has recently been declining. This, said Sigit, must be maintained.
"For people who have implemented vaccines, health protocols are still adhered to, we adhere to masks, we are preventing the growth rate of Covid-19. Praise to the Lord, in the last few days there has been a decline, especially in Jakarta, there has been a significant decline and this is what we must maintain. The conditions are to carry out prokes and vaccination," said Sigit.
It is known that the Free Vaccination Movement will be held at 668 Vaccination Outlets spread across 900 Neighbourhoods in Jakarta, involving 4,500 volunteers consisting of 1,800 medical personnel, doctors who carry out screening and vaccinators, and 2,700 non-medical observators and administrative inputs.
The target to be achieved is 200 injections per Neighbourhood per day starting from August 1, so that it can reach 3,060,000 injections on the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17.
