Tribratanews.polri.go.id - The Central Java Police have prepared 252 security posts for Christmas and New Year Eve holiday breaks. They predict that there will be more than 21 million of vehicles that will enter Central Java on December Holidays.

“We will operate in the traffic that are prone to traffic jams, including in toll routes and shortcuts. According to the data from the Ministry of Transportation, there will around 21,5 million of vehicle heading towards Central Java,” says the Director of Traffic unit of Central Java Police, Commissioner Agus Suryo Nugroho, quoted from selasarnews.com, Monday (12/19).

He predicted that the traffic peak in Central Java will occur on 23-24 December. In response, they have prepared one-way strategy, including contra flow system. This includes areas in tourist destinations. Same strategy would be applied in the return flow, particularly the routes from Central Java to West Java and Jakarta.

“The peak of return flow predicted to fall on 30-31 December, and January 1st. We will take the same measures in the return flow, either by diverting the traffic or local contra flow. We have also prepared traffic diversions from toll roads to shortcuts. We will manage this strategy to prevent congestions in toll roads,” says Commissioner Agus.

Meanwhile the Head Ops of Central Java Police, Commissioner Firly adds that the police have anticipated the potential disturbances during December Holidays.

“What we need to do is to calm the people, ensuring that the situation would be safe, particularly the Christians and all who would celebrate the New Year Eve. We have to make sure that there would be no one who would disturb the conducive situations during holiday season,” he says.
